My Canterbury Tales

Well I have been a busy girl this weekend. I went for a jolly ol' jaunt to Canterbury; home of the canterbury tales (Boo! Hiss! - for those who studied them like me). I had a wicked time. Yes I said wicked and yes I am very cool.

I went there by train on Friday and I was stopped and searched at London Liverpool Street! Do I have one of those faces?! Needless to say I was allowed on my way. When I arrived I was feeling particularly brave so I decided rather than wait for a taxi I would walk to the to where I was staying. Bad move. I was supposed to meet Alby at Christchurch College but somehow I ended up at Kent College. Doh! I ended up having to get a taxi further from where I was in the first place. If anyone asks me for directions don't ever, ever trust me! I really am that rubbish!

After the mishap everything was ok in the end. Canterbury is a lovely touristy place which is full of cute cafes and antique shops. It would be terrible to live there though as the roads are tiny, really winding and one way. We went to the best cafe ever for our lunch. The cafe was called: Bytes Cafe Bar. I have looked for details on the internet but I can't find any. We thought that it was an internet cafe but it was so much better than that! Each table had its own personal touch screen with the menu on it. The menu was split into each section: starters, mains, snacks, desserts and drinks. So touching the screen you could see exactly what there was to offer. For example if you pressed coke another options page came up with for example; ice, ice no lemon, ice and lemon, lemon no ice or no ice no lemon. It was so goddamn cool!!! You could take as long as you wanted deciding what you wanted and just send your order through when you were ready. Plus if you were thirsty instead of trying to get the waiter's attention you could just send it through. I haven't even told you the best bit yet...... It had games! You could play who wants to be millionaire and other things like that. The best one was deal or no deal though. I ended up with £400,000 in my briefcase and Alby had £170,000 so I won!! If you got the top prize then you could have won a bottle of wine. It was such a good lunch and the food was really yummy. I think that the only downside was that it was perhaps a little to easy....

We also had another good couple of meals whilst I was there. Canterbury is definitely a good place to get food! God that's what my blog has mostly been about - I am such a pig! We also went to Canterbury Cathedral which was actually really spectacular. It is huge and the stained glass windows are huge and amazing. By the way the picture at the top is of the cathedral if you hadn't guessed!

Another exciting part about Canterbury was their amazing sweet shops. I managed to get beer bottles or pint pots as some of you know them. I had forgotten how much I love them. I cannot remember the last time I had them. They were soooo good. The only trouble is is that I did not get enough and I managed to finish them on the train home so now I am very sad. Plus they had run out of sour apples - boo!

Just a quick note to end this blog on. I have two questions for you to answer?

1) What do you think scampi is made of?
2) Where in thr UK do you think Canterbury is? (Without looking at a map!)

Laters, peace out!
