Well well well. Thought you had gotten rid of me didn't you?! Well let me tell you its not that easy to get rid of me that easily (haha).
This year has been swell and this year has been hell. But anyway lets not dwell on that....
Let me tell you I thought I had experienced a lot but what I didn't realise is that I a vital experience missing. And that experience was a ride on the night train from London to southend (sarfend).
I wasn't particularly feeling great on my journey home granted (this of course was due to the dodgy cornish pasty I was eating not to the copious amount of alcohol that I had drunk this evening).
5 pretty standard looking 50 somethings sat on the seats beside me (despite there being pleanty of seats in the carriage at that point - maybe I have one of those faces). It didn't bode well when the only woman of the group actually fell into the carriage rather than stepping into it. Turns out that they were from Romford (again, not a great sign) and they had just been to the beer festival. They brought out of a bag a large bottle of fruit flavoured whisky and glasses. They offered me a glass but of course I had to decline due to the dodgy pasty. They then started singing que serra serra and encouraging me to sing along but of course I didn't want to shame my older friends with my fantastic voice so I declined their kind offer on this occasion.
This then prompted a group of girls to start singing I will survive further down the carriage. They got through the chorus until a very large and very scary looking man stood up and told them to shut up. The girls responded in a way that I never thought they would, with a phrase I never thought I would actually hear in real life........"Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!" Who would have thought it eh?! Well this opened the flood gates you see. The man stood up and I honestly thought he was going to explode but instead he took a big breath in and then he started singing I will survive. Can you believe it! Well this then started a wave of excitement down in the carriage to the point where everyone started joining in!
This has to be one of the most strangest journeys I have had in a long time. End of.
