First of all a quick update on OFSTED. The school was rated as 'outstanding' which is pretty damn awesome. Plus we got champagne at lunchtime, woo hoo! Oooh perfect time for so-called 'woot' investigation. I have feedback from a couple of friends who believe that this word may have been made up to confuse me (it doesn't take much!). If anyone could provide some evidence to its use I would be very grateful.
I spoke to my friend Catherine about my blog (its her fault all this started!). She has a link to mine on her blog, "this-week-i-have-mainly-been-obsessed", and she labels it as a very funny blog. Now I hope that she means funny ha-ha and not funny in a kind of psychotic way. But this gets me thinking how is it funny - it certainly isn't intentional, ah well! Can I just say before I go on I have actually created a link to Catherine's blog - it better bloody work!
It is the easter holidays and of course the best time to get ill! I woke up on Sunday with the cough of an old man who has been smoking a pack a day for 20 years - so attractive! I am on antibiotics, oh joy. I am in a particularly pitiful mood seen as I am being left alone to wallow. I have been looking for sympathy wherever I can get it but so far I am being pretty unsuccessful. I rang my sister whose reply was, "It better not be bloody bird flu". Nice. Then I thought, I know, my boyfriend will give me the sympathy I crave...Sadly not. He also responded with the oh so funny bird flu comments.I started the holidays by going out with the ladies who lunch. It was a very sophisticated affair, communal scoffing of pizza hut buffet, yum! I did feel stuffed for the rest of the day however. Does anyone else have to get the drink refill even if you are not thirsty? I just think if I am entitled to it then I will damn well have it.
Next I went up to Lancaster to see my favourite northern barbie; Catherine and of course Schnarf and Rascal, my favourite pussy cats (I was going to put pussies - but that would be both wrong and disturbing). It was great she made me some fab food, I love the way food tastes better when someone else makes it. One day we had carrot and peanut butter soup which sounds wrong but is actually fantastic! I should also mention that Matthew also cooked a yummy curry - well done. Boys can cook if they put their mind to it....(!).We also drank copious amounts of wine, especially the lambrusco variety. Am I ashamed at how pissed I get on lambrusco... hell n
o! I also got my hair cut, still not sure on it but we will see, at least hair grows I guess. I also got to visit Catherine's fab primary school. It was actually really nice and the kids were really sweet. One little boy even made me an easter card. My first ever easter card - wow! She also took me to give a pint of my precious blood. I have given before but it was Catherine's first time so I thought I could be the master of this situation. It didn't go according to plan though! First, they coldn't get the blood out of me quick enough and then I had a bit of a 'turn'. I went to get my biscuits and I felt fine but then Catherine said that I went really white. I didn't want to make a fuss but the next thing I knew I was lying on a bed with my legs in the air and being wafted by a nurse. I am such a wuss! Anyway my visit was fab, especially the opportunity to scoff transform-a-snax! (The second picture shows Matthew - loving the pink dressing gown look!)Well that pretty much updates what has been going on in the life of Little Jen in the past couple of weeks. Now I get to go back to my wallowing and lonliness. I am actually looking forward to getting back to some normality and seeing a certain someone again soon. Oooh I made a fab easter card - I am suddenly getting waves of creativity. I am having cravings for chocolate, which is pretty unusual as those who know me are aware of my distinct lack of appreciation for chocolate. I keep seeing all the easter eggs in sainsburys and I feel my mouth watering, especially at those big lindt ones!! Lets face it I would probably eat any of them apart from cream egg - yuk! Maybe the illness is making me all girly and hormonal... Oh god I am being all boy like in my attitude towards my illness! I swear it is not 'man flu'.
The drugs are making me ramble more than usual so I should leave it here. Take care everyone and keep in contact. Presents, cards, phonecalls and ardvarks will be greatly appreciated....
Love Jen xxxx

Thanks for the big ups (if Westwood, son of vicar, can get away with it then so can I)!
If I could find said aardvark it would be winging its way to you. Alas, no such luck. Woe and woe again. Will 3 peeled grapes suffice? xxx
